The Random House Dictionary notes that: "The term Canuck was first recorded about 1835 as an Americanism, originally referring specifically to a French Canadian. This was probably the original meaning, though in Canada and other countries, "Canuck" refers to any Canadian."

C got us some tickets to the Canucks-Flames hockey game. Since a Canuck is technically a Canadian, and as such is inherently not terribly intimidating, there are currently two logos for the Canucks. The original and still used one is called the "stick in a rink," which is shown in the t-shirt (with no corporate logos) that C acquired (one of 3) by applying for a credit card he already has (sweet move).
The new one is an Orca (killer whale) rising out of the ice which is C-shaped. Apparently the Orca is actually a reference to the owner of the team (Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment).
We got see the Canucks blow out the Flames 5-3, a whirling dervish goal (360 reverse) and even a couple of fights. The crowd of normally tame Canadians was quite energetic and definitely outdo the Coyote fans in AZ.
