Like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, only with all planes

That describes the travel portion of our trip to South America. Here was the basic itinerary:
- Phoenix to Ecuador to stay for four days.
- Ecuador to Montevideo, Uruguay
- Side Trip to Iguazu Falls on the border of Brasil and Argentina
- Two nights in Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Three nights in Montevideo
- Two more nights in Guayaquil, ECU.
- Go home.
Well the first part took one extra day...
When we arrived at the airport for our first flight we learned that our plane to Houston was delayed in Houston due to a storm, so they were trying to get us on an earlier flight, but because our reservations were "complicated" (mileage, baby lap seat, international) they could not get us on that earlier plane. That was actually good in one sense since I had forgotten my camera battery charger at home. I called Jae, who had dropped us off at the airport, to pick me back up. Anyway, I got the charger and got on the regularly scheduled plane.
That's when things went awry. We already knew we would only have 25 minutes to catch our connection to Panama City (and onto Guayaquil). There was a 'medical emergency' so we landed in San Antonio. Then, since we were on a small jet that is normally not used in San Antonio, we had to wait for new oxygen tanks to be flown in. Then a larger plane became available and we all got on it to finally fly to Houston. So 12 hours after we arrive at the Phx airport we were in Houston. We had missed our flight by about 9 hours and so we spent the night at Sinzi's sister's place (an $80 taxi fare). But that was fine because Uncle Antonio and Nephew Tony got to meet Diegito. Due to the recent hurricanes, all the hotels are full, and other passengers were spending the night at the airport on cots. Anyway the next day we played in Houston with Tonicito, Antonio, and Dusya before flying to Panama City and Guayaquil without incident.
