No more carpet
Sunday, January 20, 2008
So although we were packing for our next international expedition to the frozen tundra of....well you'll have to wait a bit longer to find out...Sinz thought it would be a good idea to start remodeling the guest bedroom. Now this is still a part of the master plan, as its the last bedroom of 4 in need of work (even though it was the second best when we moved in). The plan is to make the guest bedroom more accommodating for what we expect to be an increase in visitors in a couple of months.
The state of the room earlier today (don't have a true before photo):
- old bedroom furniture
- older still mattress with a creak
- old (maybe original) carpet - with Lulu's fur woven into the fabric
- cracked closet door mirror
Moments after the stuff was gone, we ripped out the carpet (to make it in time for bulk trash pick-up), pulled out the padding, removed the closet doors, and started chipping out the tack strips. We now have no carpet in the house except for a 3x3 patch in the hallway closet). The rest will have to wait until we get back in February. Then it'll be a rush to paint, lay new flooring, replace mirror, and modernize the ceiling fan.
