Vancouver Update

We've been quite busy in Vancouver, which one cannot avoid knowing that it is the upcoming host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, with the vast array of apparel and memorabilia adorning the city. They even have three mascots, Sumi, Miga, and our favorite Quatchi (which is also the nickname for MP andC's dogcito). For those of you who do not know, Vancouver is a very diverse city that is about 50% white, over a quarter Chinese, and nearly 45% asian in general, it the asian influence is very noticable, even in the mascots for the Olympics.

Anyway, here is a rundown of our activities since awaking to a snowfall:

  1. Attempted trip to White Rock (the snow turned to slick slush which made the hilly trip unfinishable) but we did make it to White Spot for brunch. MP and C could have just pointed to any rock and said, "There's White Rock," as everything was white, but maybe later this week.
  2. Crashing C's company Christmas party.
  3. Trip to Mapleridge to drop off a friend's gift to his parents who entrapped us with their hospitality (and tea and treats).
  4. Trip 1 to Home Depot (more later).
  5. Trip 2 to Home Depot.
  6. Tour of the holiday lights in Stanley Park.
  7. Walking tour downtown and in historic GasTown.
  8. Trip 3 to Home Depot.

And tonight is Christmas Eve dinner and mass.
