SerbFest 2007

As we make our ethnic rounds, we've now moved onto the Serb Fest 2007 at Saint Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church. Although not quite as well-known as Greek Fest, it had the same amount of heart as well as heart clogging greasy calorie laden food. This time is was a plate of Serbian sausages, potato salad, and onions that did me in. Sinziana had some spinach filo pastry thingy.

Then there was the singing (all in native tongue as well as the announcing). Sinziana, Brent and myself may have been the only ones there who didn't speak Serbian - so we just smiled a lot. To help pass the time we indulged in something called a shot of "Yellow Wasp," which is at the very least an antiseptic.

Then there was the dancing of coerced children.....don't believe me? Listen for the high pitched wail when the accordion is played. Also, listen for "EeHa! EeHa!," which is Serbian for "make it stop!"
