Ninja Prowess

About two months ago, Sinziana and I stumbled across a channel on cable called G4. That weekend they were airing a marathon of Ninja Warrior episodes. We were hooked. It wasn't like the old MXC (Most eXtreme Challenge) where hapless Japanese contestant attempted to get past obstacles, miserably failed iand in the process looked really funny. On top of the crazy obstacles, the commentary during the show was a faked translation of japanese to english.
Ninja Warrior has very funny moments but many of the wannbe ninjas are very serious and actually train for the events. There is even a Ladies Ninja Warrior event as well as junior versions for kids.
We even saw the two Hamm Twins, American gymnists from the 2000 Olympics on the show. While they managed to get to the first 2 or 3 stages of the competition even these guys didn't pass muster and become true Ninja Warriors.

Now the show is having a special event to send one American Ninja Warrior to compete in Japan. Seems we aren't the only fans.
