Our camera is among the Undead now.
Thursday, July 5, 2007
Sometimes when a camera gets to be old, it ends up dying on you. However, our beloved Olympus C5060 did just the opposite, it became undead - that is it went wacko and won't turn off any more. For a while it would zoom in and out and in and out. Plus some of the buttons that allow you to take photos don't respond properly. So I had to pull the battery out to stop it. Resetting it stopped the zoom seizure, but the buttons don't all work now and it still won't turn off. So its been sent away to see if it can be repaired. In the meanwhile we stepped up from a top-end (used by some pros) SLR-like camera that's served us well to a Nikon D40 budget/entry level dSLR that can get great results. It don't know if the image quality is much better, but its much faster and not much bigger.
